The «TEX3D Eco-design» project received funding from the European Union through the Single Market program under grant agreement no. 101074671.
The second call for the Innovate Boost Voucher of the EuroBoosTEX program, coordinated by ATEVAL and four other renowned clusters: AEI Tèxtils in Catalonia, CITEVE in Portugal, NTT in Italy, and TECHTERA in France, will finance twelve European SME consortia selected through competitive bidding. The goal is to drive change in European textile value chains by fostering innovation and technology assimilation to become more competitive and sustainable.
The presented project, “TEX3D Ecodesign,” is a synergy between MLS Textiles 1992 and Tecnologías Dim, a company incubated at the European Business and Innovation Center of Murcia (CEEIM). Both SMEs stand out for their strong innovative focus.
Collaboration
MLS Textiles has been a leader since 2007 in the manufacture of hosiery, underwear, and base layer garments, thanks to the application of its own technologies, including the patented Regenactiv® technology, specialized in skin care, which is applied in the company’s brands Lurbel and MUVU.
Tecnologías Dim is a technology-based company from Murcia, certified as an Innovative SME by the Ministry of Science, Innovation, and Universities (MINECO). It is recognized for its focus on virtualization technologies.
Through this collaboration, the two companies aim to transform the textile industry by integrating advanced technologies that align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 9 and SDG 12) under the Global Compact.
Initiative
The project focuses on promoting ecodesign and the circular economy. It will involve in-depth research and development to implement innovative methodologies in the design and production workflow, addressing key challenges of traditional textile industries, such as high resource consumption, waste generation, and the need for an integrated consideration of the product lifecycle.
Over six months, Tecnologías Dim will develop an Advanced Design Process Management System (ADPMS) with a modular digital architecture. This system will leverage technologies like Virtual Reality and Digital Twins to improve interaction between human resources and production processes at MLS Textiles’ facilities in Ontinyent. It will feature automation tools to enable efficient information management in product engineering and robotics, adapting production to meet actual customer demand.
Extensive pilot tests will be carried out in the production of garment prototypes, including teams from MLS Textiles for design and pattern-making, performance testing, and safety trials, which are critical to ensure the quality of the DIM3D ecodesign application.
Both companies have a solid technical foundation and experience in innovation projects, making them well-suited to contribute significantly to the success of the “TEX3D Ecodesign” project. Their location in Spain and history of collaboration with research and development institutions strengthen their ability to bring resources and expertise to the project.
